Pumping Stations
In Pumping Stations, you'll learn ...
- To become more familiar with the application and use of pumping stations in the field of engineering
- Understand and comprehend methods of design and selection of appropriate materials
- Calculate some of the pertinent pumping properties such as pumping efficiency and impeller size
- Be able to interpret (effectively) points on pump curves
Overview
This course will discuss the definitions and various applications of both lift and pumping station package systems as they relate to use for canal water supply, land drainage, sewer systems, and other applicable situations within the United States.
Various design standards will be explored along with design criteria, pump selection, and how the stations work with any existing or to be installed piping stations for the necessary application. To help with the design, review and analysis of all needed engineering formulas will be presented.
