This four-hour course reviews the technology associated with capturing and sequestering carbon dioxide from fossil fuel power plants.
Because of increasing global energy carbon emissions, rising concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) will enter the atmosphere unless major changes are made in the way we produce and use energy --in particular, how we manage carbon. We can minimize this impact by reducing the need for fossil fuels, finding other sources for energy production, and capturing the carbon that is emitted from fossil fuel combustion and sequestering it.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

- Describe methods used to capture carbon dioxide.
- Explain how carbon dioxide can be sequestered in geologic formations.
