Pretreatment of Industrial Wastewater for VOC Removal
In Pretreatment of Industrial Wastewater for VOC Removal , you'll learn ...
- How to determine pretreatment requirements
- Nature of oil present in water streams
- Common pretreatment levels required
- Methods of pretreatment
Overview
This course is intended for a wide range audience of engineers and in particular engineers dealing with plant water effluent streams directed to sanitary sewer facilities. Pretreatment of industrial wastewater to remove hydrocarbons is often required so that the hydrocarbons will not cause VOC emissions from sanitary sewer plants which exceed regulatory limits.
In this course you will get an overview of the technologies available to treat plant effluent water, information on requirements and suggestions on how to avoid pitfalls in specifying separators. A discussion of hydrocarbons in wastewater and several methods of pretreatment are included as well as examples of pretreatment systems and recommended criteria for choosing a pretreatment system.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- How to determine pretreatment requirements
- Nature of oil present in water streams
- Common pretreatment levels required
- Methods of pretreatment
- Estimating method for size of simplest separators
- How to determine if a system is meeting requirements
- Pitfalls to avoid in specifying systems
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 15 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
