Overview
This course examines the factors that can contribute to stress within the workplace and methods that can be utilized to improve a person’s condition. Stress is a common and unavoidable occurrence in the United States. Many people can succumb to work burnout, which can lead to physical and mental consequences if not appropriately addressed. This course will seek to produce outcomes focused on:
- Workplace stress management
- Building awareness of what factors can contribute to stress
- Recognizing that stress can be a part of life, but proper management is key to resolution
We will examine several scenarios in the workplace that can bring about stress and practical methods that can be employed to increase the chances of yielding positive outcomes for an employee. Whether it is miscommunication, co-worker discord, or unrealistic deadlines that are the contributing factors for the development of stress, strategies can be employed to handle the situation.
Finally, the course will discuss stress management techniques and how these techniques can help to provide mental clarity, awareness, and balance in order to achieve an improved quality of life. Through the use of meditation, mindfulness, or cognitive behavioral therapy, a person can learn to achieve effective management of situations that can produce stress in everyday life.

- Identify situations that are prone to stress in the workplace
- Examine scenarios within the workplace where stress management strategies can be incorporated
