Dynamic Transmission Line Ratings
In Dynamic Transmission Line Ratings, you'll learn ...
- Thermal limits of transmission lines
- Dynamic line rating technology
- Dynamic line rating benefits and implementation challenges
Overview
This course describes how transmission line loadings are calculated and how dynamically rating transmission line capacity may improve efficiencies of electric power delivery and improve electric reliability. The course provides calculation examples of line capacity and describes both the benefits and challenges in implementing dynamic line ratings (DLRs).
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- The meaning of the term “dynamic line rating (DLR)”
- How dynamic line ratings may benefit utilities
- The various line rating concepts
- The components involved in a DLR
- The devices and technology used in DLR
- The challenges facing DLR implementation
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 22 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
