Baghouses and Fabric Filters for Particulate Control
In Baghouses and Fabric Filters for Particulate Control, you'll learn ...
- The major operating feature that distinguishes fabric filters from other gas filters
- How face velocity and gas-to-cloth ratios impact the pressure drop and size of baghouses
- Fabric filter cleaning methods, including shaker, reverse-air, and pulse-jet
- The equations used to size a baghouse
Overview
Fabric filter units are used in industry as an effective pollution control device for removal of particulate material within a captured air stream.
In this course you will learn the various filter options for controlling particulates and how to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each as they apply to emission sources. Design and operating parameters are analyzed. The applicability of filter materials and operating principles are explained for a variety of uses.
The course will be beneficial for a student with basic knowledge of air filter equipment and an interest in controlling particulate emissions. It is also an excellent overview for those professionals working in the field of air pollution control.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- General Requirements of the USEPA Clean Air Act
- Background of particulate compounds
- Types of air filter equipment used for particulate control
- How different filter media is used
- Design parameters for filter units
- Information for enhancing filter operation
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 20 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
