Analyzing the Hydrologic Condition of Watersheds
In Analyzing the Hydrologic Condition of Watersheds, you'll learn ...
- The purpose and steps involved in hydrologic condition analysis of a watershed
- How to identify and rate the primary factors that directly influence flow, quality or timing of water in the watershed
- Documentation requirements, including the current range of variability, sources of information, assumptions, and the level of confidence in the current values
- Why it is important to establish reference levels
Overview
Runoff from watersheds in the form of surface water and ground water has the potential to impact various other resources. One of the first steps taken in order to eliminate or mitigate those impacts would be to analyze the hydrologic condition of watersheds and address site specific conditions. Understanding the relationship of the various hydrologic factors of a watershed is essential to decrease the impacts of Stormwater runoff.
In this course, you will learn the steps required to analyze the hydrologic conditions of a watershed.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the factors needed to describe watershed hydrologic conditions.
- Determine relative-importance scale ratings.
- Describe the recovery-potential scale rating.
- Explain the effects of temperature on hydrologic processes.
- Identify the characteristics of soil types.
- Describe the relationship between meteorology and surface runoff.
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 15 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
