Modulation - Volume II - Angle and Pulse Modulation
In Modulation - Volume II - Angle and Pulse Modulation, you'll learn ...
- The two types of angle modulation and how they differ
- What is frequency-shift keying (FSK) and its advantages relative to on-off keyed CW
- The basic principles of pulse modulation
Overview
This 5-hour course is the second in a series of three courses on RF modulation. This course covers angle and pulse modulation and explains how frequency shift keying is used in angle modulation and how angle modulation is used in FM and PM modulation. Pulse modulation techniques such as PAM, PDM, PFM, PPM, PFM, and PCM signal generation are reviewed.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- The advantages of FSK over AM modulation
- Frequency-shift keying (FSK)
- The development of frequency modulation (FM)
- The methods of frequency modulating a carrier
- The methods of phase modulating a carrier
- Phase-shift keying (PSK), its generation, and application
- Pulse-amplitude modulation (PAM) and generation
- Pulse-frequency modulation (PFM) and generation
- Pulse-code modulation (PCM) and generation
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 35 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
