Design of Reinforced Concrete Beams per ACI 318-14
In Design of Reinforced Concrete Beams per ACI 318-14, you'll learn ...
- How to design rectangular singularly reinforced concrete beams,
- Terms related to concrete beams: Steel ratio, Strength reduction factor, Load factors and combinations of loads, Cover, Spacing, Shear reinforcement, Development length
- Be familiar with other types of beams: Rectangular doubly reinforced concrete beams, T-beams, Deep beams, Pre-stressed concrete beams
- Know how to use the design aids included in the course
Overview
This course is of particular interest of anybody involved with concrete structures like Civil or Structural Engineers. Very little knowledge of previous ACI codes is needed. This course covers the design of rectangular singularly reinforced concrete beams. There will be many references to ACI 318-14 but you do not need a copy of the code. Several design aids are included in the course. Three examples are worked out in detail. Many terms related to reinforced concrete beams are covered.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
