Overview
In Noise and Vibration Control - Part 2, you'll learn ...
- How sound propagates outdoors
- Methods to mitigate the impacts of outdoor noise
- Noise control of HVAC systems for both indoor and outdoor components
- Noise level estimates for various types of mechanical equipment
Overview
This 4-hour course is the second of two courses on noise and vibration control related to equipment. This course covers outside noise propagation issues as well as noise issues related to HVAC equipment including ductwork, vents, fans, and grilles.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Understand the physics of outdoor sound propagation
- Understand the impacts of distance on noise
- Know how barriers may influence sound propagation
- Know how to perform an indoor sound analysis
- Understand the impacts of various noise control treatments
- Be able to calculate noise impacts of HVAC equipment
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 25 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
