Noise and Vibration Control - Part 1
In Noise and Vibration Control - Part 1, you'll learn ...
- The basics of acoustics and vibration criteria for acceptable noise and vibration for indoor applications
- How to calculate sound levels in indoor environments
- Basic noise and vibration reduction methods for indoor applications
- Acoustical isolation effectiveness of various common construction materials
Overview
This 5-hour course explains how equipment noise is generated and how to minimize the impact of equipment noise. This volume primarily covers noise inside of buildings. The second volume in this series covers outdoor sound propagation and also describes the noise issues with HVAC systems.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define common noise-control terminology.
- Explain the basic principles of acoustics.
- Describe the relationship between sound and vibration.
- Explain sound intensity.
- Describe the relationship between frequency and sound.
- Calculate the sound pressure level in a room.
- Explain how sound isolation is achieved.
- Compare the effects of various wall types on noise transmission.
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 30 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
