Substations - Volume XIII: Insulated Cables and Raceways
In Substations - Volume XIII: Insulated Cables and Raceways, you'll learn ...
- The application and selection of low-voltage, high-voltage, and special cables
- Cable voltage ratings, sizing, splicing, terminations and installation considerations
- Underground and overhead raceway design considerations
- Cable fill requirements for raceways
Overview
This 2-hour course is the thirteenth in a series of courses on the design of electrical substations. The courses do not necessarily have to be taken in order and, for the most part, are stand-alone courses.
This course covers insulated cables and raceways. Both 600 volt and primary voltage cables are discussed. Numerous forms of raceways are covered including direct bury, duct banks, trench raceways, and overhead raceways..
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Types of 600-volt cables used in substations
- How cables over 600 volts are used in substations
- The various underground primary cable insulation levels
- How specialized cables are used in substations
- The uses of underground raceways
- The different types of overhead raceways
- How to size cable raceways
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 20 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
