In Substations - Volume VIII: Site and Foundation Design, you'll learn ...
- Design factors related to the substation site
- Site drainage considerations
- Design issues for substation foundations
- General aspects of substation control house construction
Overview
This 5-hour course is the eighth in a series of courses on the design of electrical substations. The courses do not necessarily have to be taken in order and, for the most part, are stand-alone courses.
This course covers the design issues related to site design and preparation and the design of foundations for the substation structures. Control house design issues are also discussed.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Types of yard designs
- Preliminary site design requirements
- How to design a drainage system
- How to design an erosion protection system
- Types of foundation designs
- The benefits of drilled shafts
- How to design a drilled shaft
- The design of a spread footing
- How to design a slab-on-grade
- How to design an oil tank separator system
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 30 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
