Energy Efficiency: Building Insulation - Theory and Materials
In Energy Efficiency: Building Insulation - Theory and Materials, you'll learn ...
- How insulation works, how it is measured, and factors that define a good building envelope
- Different types of insulation, along with their relative merits
- Moisture migration control methods
- Regulatory and environmental rules governing insulation
Overview
This 3-hour course covers the theory of insulation and how it works. There are many different types of insulation and this course will explain each of the major types including describing insulating values and advantages and disadvantages.
The course also covers the basics of moisture migration and the regulatory and environmental aspects of insulating products.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- The basics of heat flow
- How insulation works
- Typical R-values of most common insulating products
- Different types of plastic foam insulations in use today
- How to control moisture migration in a building structure
- Potential health risks from insulation
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 20 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
