Overview
This four-hour course is a review of how solar water heating systems work and the components that constitute a solar water heating system. The course discusses the types of systems, the characteristics of solar radiation, the types of collectors and the balance of system equipment. In addition there is a section on how to calculate the size of a system and an overview of the design process for a solar water heating installation.

This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Understand the characteristics of solar radiation
- Know the types of solar water heating systems
- Understand the different types of solar collectors used
- Know how to calculate the hot water demand of a residential application
- Understand the basics of sizing a solar water heating system
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 25 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
