Interesting. Very sad but interesting.

Decent presentation. It seems to me that the Indian government, in their zeal to make the Bhopal chemical plant an indigenous enterprise, bit off more than they could chew, especially with the production of dangerous chemicals. UCC probably wishes that it never acceded to the demands of the Indian govt for such a plant with so many critical components.

Very interesting but tragic.

I liked the material presented. It is a good reminder of the importance of following best safety practices. The new ideas to me surrounded the requirement to consider how to implement those best practices in facilities outside of the United States with different levels of technological sophistication.

Interesting history. Failures on so many levels.
Robert Schluter |
Excellent example of how external forces can impact design decisions that put people at risk.
Randy Kastello |
Interesting read. Impartial facts were presented well.
Laura Tunstall |
Very interesting and informative from both an ethical standpoint and a case study view.
Matt Haakenstad |
Excellent Case Study - chilling, but all engineers need to be familiar with what led to this disaster.
Barry Bechtel |
Very good and rather detailed review of the situation that raises many questions. It is not clear the role of NSPE in a foreign country (foreign to NSPE, which is USA-based). Perhaps another authority could be used.
Andy Erickson |
Good example of potential impacts in different cultural and political climates.
Jeffery Collins |
Informative content that provides important considerations for designers, particularly as it relates to design of facilities subject to operation by personnel of a foreign culture that may have differing approaches to safety than those the designer might take for granted.

Seems to be a fair assessment of what I'm sure is controversial as to who/what caused accident
