Nice review of basic fracture mechanics!
Michael Allen Murray |
Good course, but not all parameters required for the formulas were well defined.
Matt Garner |
This was a very good intro course. I would highly recommend.
William Tintle |
Very detailed. A good analytical resource for future projects.

There are some sections that were helpful and enhanced my learning in this topic. However, the transitions between topics wasn't great, and after what seemed like a decent introduction, it was on to the next topic. Discussing the tests of materials was helpful, but some of the calculation examples seemed to be harder to apply to real world problems.
Marc Albert |
Very helpful. Glad to see real world assumptions and applications using the fracture mechanics theories in order to understand the use and limitations.
Brian Morgan |
A little over my head. Very interesting and will show how little know about stress calcs.
Glad I did it, learned a lot.
Richard Bennett |
Not very useful, not sure what the equations in chapter 7.4 and 8 are. They might be matrix equations but are not valid if this is what they are intended to be.
James McCann |
This was a good high-level introduction to crack propagation theories that provides plenty of additional references for further study.
Timothy Engleman |
comprehensive, not enough actual calulations
Robert Ciszak |
This is a very good course for crack theory! It summarizes several theories that can sometimes be difficult to find - especially in one document.
Marlo Carlson |
A good introduction to a complex subject.
