Robert T. Hintersteiner, P.E.

Robert T. Hintersteiner, P.E., received his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering degree from the New York University School of Engineering, and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering - Transportation degree from Manhattan College. He served as a government employee in the field of Traffic Engineering for 26 years. He has been a full time consulting Transportation/Forensic Engineer since 1989. His specialty is ground transportation accident reconstruction (Automobiles, Pedestrians, Bicycles, Motorcycles, Transit Vehicles, Subways, Railroads, Railroad Grade Crossings, and Traffic Control Devices).

Mr. Hintersteiner is licensed as a Professional Engineer in three states. He was President of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE) in 2001, and has also served as Chairman of its Continuing Education Committee. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices Traffic Signal Task Force, which is an advisory committee to the U.S. Department of Transportation. He has published several papers on Traffic Signals, Transportation, and Railroad Accidents.

Mr. Hintersteiner also develops Professional Engineering continuing education courses that focus on various aspects of Transportation, with an emphasis on Traffic Signal Studies and Design.
