Edwin Thompson, P.E.

Edwin Thompson, P.E., started with a Bachelor’s Degree focusing on Machine design. As machine technology progressed, Mr. Thompson developed capabilities for control systems, instrumentation, and later for machine software. He holds a Professional Engineering license for “Mechanical and Control Systems Engineering” in Oregon, and a Professional Engineering license for “Control Systems” in Texas.

During the course of over 45 years, Mr. Thompson successfully developed creative solutions, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software technologies to meet complex challenges in several industries. Control Systems have implemented a wide variety of instrumentation, motor control, numerical control, vision recognition, and other technologies. PLC and PC-based systems have been incorporated, with the successful development of machine software, database development, and various forms of graphic displays. Most control systems were designed and wired per NFPA 79 and labeled per UL508 standards.

Mr. Thompson previously held a corporate position in the Electronic industry but has provided consulting engineering services as the owner of Manufacturing Systems Inc. for over 35 years.
