PDHengineer.com courses meet the requirements
for "Formal Education and Training Activities" under Engineers
Australia's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.
Guidelines for CPD
Engineers Australia requires Chartered Engineers
to undertake at least 150 weighted hours of CPD activities during any three-year
period, keep records of the activities and make the records available for audit
when required. The six major types of CPD accepted are as follows:
| A |
Formal Education and Training
Activities |
| B |
Informal Learning Activities |
| C |
Conferences and Meetings |
| D |
Presentations and Papers |
| E |
Service Activities |
| F |
Industry Involvement (per academia) |
PDHengineer.com courses fall under Category A
- Formal Education and Training Activities. Formal education
activities, including distance education courses, are accepted by Engineers
Australia for CPD credit in this category if the activity involves some form
of assessment. To receive credit for any PDHengineer.com course, the
student must pass an online quiz with a minimum score of 70%, which meets
Engineers Australia's guidelines for assessment. Additionally,
documented evidence of Formal Education and Training Activities must be
presented when your records are audited. Upon successful completion of
each PDHengineer.com course, you can immediately access a certificate of
completion and print it for your records.
Time Weighting Factor
Formal Education and Training Activities earn
a time weighting factor of 2. This means that you earn 2 hours of CPD
for every hour that you spend. Thus, you will earn 6 hours of CPD if
you take a 3 hour course on PDHengineer.com. Engineers Australia
suggests for distance education that you should estimate the number of hours
of formal face-to-face education that would have been involved if this mode
had been utilised instead of the distance mode. However,
PDHengineer.com removes all the guesswork. We test all our courses
using licensed (chartered) engineers to determine the amount of time
required to complete each course. For each course, the number of
professional development hours (PDH's) is listed in the course description.
Note that PDH's represent the actual number of hours required to complete a
course (without the application of a time weighting factor). With
Engineers Australia's time weighting factor of 2, you would earn 4 CPD's if
you take a 2 PDH course on PDHengineer.com. Likewise, you earn 6 CPD"s
for a 3 PDH course on PDHengineer.com.
If you have any questions about the
relationship between PDH's and CPD's, please do not hesitate to
contact us.

No PDHengineer.com course has ever been rejected by any licensing
