Thermoplastic industrial piping systems (TIPS) can handle an estimated 75% of all industrial applications from a standpoint of temperature, pressure and type fluids being transported at an average estimated cost savings of 30% or more. In North America however, TIPS are used in only an estimated 15% of all industrial piping applications. It should be incumbent upon the engineering, end-user and contracting/installer community to learn the dos and donts of TIPS for the benefit of their clients. The major benefits to the client compared to most other piping systems, besides cost savings, are an environmentally sound, easy to install, reliable, and long lasting piping system. The
webinar presentation will instruct the student in designing, installing, and selecting the best thermoplastic piping material for a particular application.
Thermoplastic industrial piping systems (TIPS) have been used for over five decades in successfully handling industrial piping application. Today, the professional fluid handling design engineer and installer can choose from multiple plastic piping compounds for applications such as potable water, laboratory drainage, chemical processing and many others.
To educate the engineering community to a variety of commonly used plastic piping materials, the TIPS product line committee of the Plastic Pipe & Fittings Association (PPFA) has created a professional generic (not favoring any one material or manufacturer) seminar. The purpose of the seminar is to educate architects and design engineers to the dos and donts of TIPS.
The seminar will include ABS, CPVC, PE, PP, PVC and PVDF piping materials. The three hour
webinar will include an introduction and history of thermoplastics, features & benefits, engineering design considerations, joining/installing /testing /repairing, product availability, selecting the proper plastic piping material and applications. After finishing the seminar, the student will have proficiency, knowledge, and a comfort level of designing, specifying and installing TIPS.

In this 3 hour web-based
seminar, you'll ....
-
Have an understanding of basic plastic piping definitions and history.
-
Be aware of the features and benefits of TIPS products.
-
Be knowledgeable in designing TIPS in above and below-ground usage.
-
Be knowledgeable of over a dozen different joining techniques of TIPS.
-
Be aware of the availability of dozens of different TIPS products.
-
Secure the knowledge of selecting the proper plastic piping material.
-
Be aware of 30 different TIPS application processes
