Overview

This course is intended to serve as an introduction to fluid statics, hydrodynamics and hydraulic machines for attendees with little or no fluids background.

This course transitions from hydraulics concepts to laws, mathematical equations, sample problems and practical hydraulics case study examples. For those attendees or participants who possess prior fluids knowledge and experience, this course, is intended to serve as a refresher. This course is designed to serve as a tool for staying abreast of fluids and hydraulics engineering fundamentals.

What Students Can Take from this Course into the Work Place?

• Better understanding of fluid statics or hydrostatics.
• Skills and knowledge required for understanding and solving hydrodynamics problems.
• Better understanding of distinction between various types of hydraulic machines.
• Skills needed to specify and select hydraulic machines for specific system head requirements.

Learning Objectives

In this 8 hour web-based seminar, you'll learn....

  • Hydrostatics concepts and analysis

  • Mathematical principles and analytical methods for solving hydrodynamics problems

  • Electrical Equipment and Instrumentation in Industrial Applications. This would include motors, transformers, switchgear, protection devices, power/energy monitoring systems

  • Study of hydraulic machines commonly applied in industrial and commercial environment

  • Mathematical analysis involving matching of system head requirements with available pump curves
