Overview
As
the engineer or architect on a project, you will likely be asked to review
change orders submitted by contractors and/or the owner. But, how do you
determine whether a change is really a contract change? And why would
someone request a change for work already shown on a drawing? In this
course - the second in a 3-part series on Change Orders - we answer the question
"Is this really a change?".
There are numerous reasons why a change might be requested for work already
depicted in the contract documents. The contractor might have overlooked
the work in the drawings. The owner or contractor may perceive a
"better way" to do things. Or the product may not be constructible
as
shown on the drawings.
This
course will show you, as the engineer or architect, how to determine whether a
request for change is really a change or whether it's just a clarification.
You will learn what types of errors and omissions constitute legitimate changes.
And you will learn how to respond to requests for change orders.
The
student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty (20)
questions at the end of the course to obtain PDH credits.
