Plumbing ADA Accessibility Guidelines
Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR.
Overview
In
today’s complex building structures there is a need to take into account the
American Disabilities Act that sets guidelines for plumbing fixtures and
installations of those fixtures. The U.S. Department of Justice enforces
guidelines that require nondiscrimination on the basis of disability by public
accommodations and in commercial facilities. This course provides an overview
of the plumbing fixture requirements related to these guidelines.
The student is expected to read and review the material contained in the Title
III regulations (28 CFR Part 36, revised July 1, 1994) issued by the Department
of Justice. The ADA Standards for Accessible Design are in Appendix A of the
Title III Regulations.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of
ten (10) questions at the end of
this course to obtain PDH credits.
