Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout)

Overview
Workers can be seriously injured or killed if machinery
they service or maintain unexpectedly energizes, starts up or releases stored
energy. Employers are required to develop and implement lockout/tagout
procedures to protect workers who can be injured servicing or maintaining
machinery.
In this course, the student will review OSHA 3120,
"Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout)". This publication outlines the
requirements in the Code of Federal Regulations (29CFR Part 1910) for lockout/tagout
procedures to protect workers servicing machinery. This course is relevant
to business owners, engineers, managers, foreman and any other personnel working
in industries that require the servicing and/or maintenance of machinery that
can injure or kill workers if the equipment unexpectedly energizes, starts up or
releases stored energy.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of
ten questions at the end of
this course to obtain PDH credits.
