Fundamentals of Liquid Flow Measurement
Randy Down, P.E.
Overview
This course discusses a
wide variety of methods of measuring filled pipe and open channel liquid flow.
Included is a brief history of flow measurement technology, various methods of
liquid flow measurement currently in use, things that can affect measurement
accuracy and repeatability, and things to consider when selecting flow
instrumentation for a particular application.
Flow element and
transmitter designs will be discussed and the advantages and disadvantages of
each dependent upon the type of flow measurement application.
The
student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty-five (25) questions at the
end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
