Green Roofs
Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR.
Overview
Because of their many energy-saving and
environmental benefits, green roofs are a promising technology for
energy-efficient buildings. In a green roof, a layer of vegetation covers the
surface of a roof to provide shade, cool indoor and outdoor temperatures,
provide storm water management, and more.
In this course the student will learn about the
benefits of green roofs, estimated savings and market potential of green roofs,
technology performance of green roofs, and warranties, standards and codes
related to green roofs.
The student is expected to read and review the material contained
in Green Roofs, DOE/EE-0298.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions
at the end of the course to obtain PDH credits.
