Adam Leigland received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of
Notre Dame, and a M.S. in Civil Engineering and Masters of City Planning
from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a registered engineer
in California and Montana, and is a certified city planner with the
American Institute of Certified Planners. His areas of expertise include
infrastructure service provision and infrastructure planning and
programming.
Mr. Leigland began his career as an engineering officer in the US Air
Force, where he served in the US, Honduras, Panama, England, and Italy.
After leaving the Air Force, he worked first for the California Department
of Transportation and later the San Francisco County Transportation
Authority as a transportation planner. He then moved back to Europe to
work for NATO. He is currently the Chief of Engineering at a NATO air
base in northern Italy, where he is responsible for comprehensive planning
and capital project programming, design, and execution.
Mr. Leigland is a member of the American Planning Association and is vice
president of his local post of the Society of American Military
Engineers. He is the co-author of Infrastructure Planning and
Programming: A Guide for Local Officials (publication forthcoming, Solano
Press, Point Arenas, CA). In addition, he is an adjunct professor at
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he teaches courses in
transportation planning and engineering. |
